New NQG Chairman

Updated: Oct 6, 2023

I am pleased to introduce our new Chairman, Andy Vallis!

As well as co-ordinating the NQG participation in the MAC Gallery in 2023, she has stepped forward for the position of Chairman and will be bringing her many talents and skills to the leadership of our group.

The Executive has already had one planning meeting for the upcoming year. Be on the lookout for the workshop days and many exciting programs.

Welcome Andy!

Not departed just yet

I was handed the leadership just as COVID hit in 2020. There should have been a period of transition, an end of year social and a new beginning for our group. It turned out not to be the case. We had to find a new way of "doing business". We wanted to keep everyone "together" while keeping everyone safely apart. At first this did not seem possible but we did it.

We were successful by thinking outside of the box and finding innovative solutions.

We Zoomed! Which may be considered to be actually "inside the box". We set up a website too. And when we could, we had outdoor events! We weathered the tough times and kept our group strong! Yay us!

I would like to send a personal Thank You to the Executive Teams (as there were many people) for their ideas and support. As they say, many hands make light work. We did it!

A huge thank you to all of you too, individual members of our group, for helping with our efforts. If you had not been willing to give this a try we would not be the strong family that we are today.

Hopefully the largest part of the crisis has passed and we can move gracefully forward.

We will be keeping our ability to Zoom (winter workshops) and want to improve on the website. I will continue on as the Web Guru for the foreseeable future but would love to partner with someone who would like to stretch their techie skills.

Thank you again for all of your support. I'll see you around.

Cheers,

Carolyn
