Picnic Sewcial
Updated: Feb 1, 2022
On the 30th of August, our Group gathered in person for the first time in over a year! There must have been 20 of us there at least. It was also really nice to have so many ladies renew their membership at the same time. We had a great time, showed off some quilts, and really enjoyed just getting together again.
First, here are a few pics of us at the gathering. Afterwards, you'll get collages of the wonderful quilts that were shown and/or donated. Finally, we have a few pics of our quilts being dropped off at Nanaimo and District Hospital Foundation.
Thank you to everyone that participated. Special thanks go to Carol Connolly for collecting and dropping off the donation quilts. Also, thanks Kirsten for taking all of the pictures you see at the picnic. Janice Perrino, the Foundation's CEO, thanked us, and said, "Thank you again for dropping off these beautiful quilts today. Give a hug to all of the members from us and keep up the incredible work you do. Your group is so loved! Thank you."

The Drop Off

We received a lovely note in response to our donation. Well done Ladies. I am so proud to be a member of this very generous group. Message Details: Name: Anneli Kaethler Email: anneli.kaethler@islandhealth.ca Subject: Message of Gratitude Message: Hello Quilters of Nanoose, I want to extend a message of gratitude from people receiving dialysis at NRGH. Your group has donated lovely quilts that I and my colleagues have the pleasure of handing out to people when they start their treatments at our centre. I'm new in this role and it's one of my favourite things to do. People are so appreciative of this gesture of caring and they comment on the colourful and creative quilts. Thank you for your generous gift of time, creativity and warmth. Anneli Kaethler Dietitian Renal Unit NRGH (and Nanoose Bay community member)
