October Show and Tell

Life in the Time of Covid

This is the small quilt I made during the past few months symbolizing the kinds of things I did during our quarantine. I wanted to use the green and cream fabric we had been given from Serge and Sew as well as include some of the positive themes that have come out of the pandemic. The ♥️ seemed to stand out.

Reading, Jig saw puzzling and of course Quilting, took up a lot of my time so I used that as the basis for the design. I wanted the puzzle pieces to look as if they were falling out of the pages of a book and when assembled would form a heart. Each piece represents an activity. I also wanted to be able to work on it on the boat, so raw edge appliqué worked perfectly! I then finished the stitching at home.

I have overlaid a descriptor on some of the pieces that maybe were a little obscure.

Great idea and skills putting that together. Will be a keepsake for sure about our Covid times. Well done!!
